IAS Exam 2022 | Admission Notification

 IAS Exam 2022 - Indian Administrative Services Exam is considered as one of the most sorts after competitive exams in India among its graduate youths. IAS exam's importance lies in the fact that graduates of any stream or course whether it is Arts, Engineering, Science, Medicine and even Management, etc. have an equal opportunity to compete in this exam.  IAS aspirants from prestigious IIT's or IIM's will have an equal chance of cracking IAS's as it will be an MBBS from AFMC or AIIMs etc. IAS exam provides equal opportunity to all, to reach the apex of the Indian administrative system.

Young graduates who want to prove themselves and who wants to be a part of the Government machinery in the real sense has to crack the IAS exam. Also known as the Civil Services exam before the independence of India IAS exam is conducted by the central body Union Public Service Commission every year in the month of May to select approximately 400 candidates to serve on the top-notch positions in the Central Government and its various departments.



IAS Exam 2022 Eligibility

Educational Qualification

Aspiring candidates should be at least a Graduate in any discipline from a recognized university.

Candidates having professional and technical qualifications recognized by the government are also eligible.

Those who have appeared in the final year but do not have the result can also apply but they would have to produce proof of passing the exam with their application for the Main Exam.

Candidates who have passed the final year of MBBS or any Medical degree Examination but are yet to complete the internship can also appear for the Main Examination. However, they must submit along with their Main Examination application, a certificate from the concerned authority of the University / Institution that they have passed the final professional medical examination. At the time of the Interview, they are supposed to produce a certificate from a competent authority that they have completed (including internship) all the requirements for the award of the Medical Degree.

Note: There is no minimum percentage of marks in the qualifying examination is  (Pass only) required to be eligible for taking the IAS Exam.

Age Limits

Candidates must have attained the age of 21 years and must not have attained the age of 30 years on the 1st August of the year in which the examination is being held.

The upper age limit may be relaxed in respect of the SC/ST and other backward classes.


IAS Exam 2022 Syllabus

IAS Preliminary Examination would consist of two papers- Paper-I and Paper-II.  The syllabus and pattern of the Preliminary Examination would be as under :

 

Paper 1  (200 marks) - Duration: Two hrs.

Paper 2 (200 marks) - Duration: Two hrs.

  • Current events  of national and international importance
  • History of India  and Indian national movement
  • Indian and World Geography- physical, social, economic geography of India and the world
  • Indian Polity and governance – constitution, political system, Panchayati Raj, public policy, Rights issues, etc.
  • Economic and social development – sustainable development, poverty, inclusion, demographics, social sector initiatives, etc.
  • General issues on environmental ecology, biodiversity, and climate change that  don't require subject specialization
  • General Science.
  • Comprehension
  • Interpersonal skills including communication skills
  • Logical reasoning and analytical ability
  • Decision making and problem-solving
  • General mental ability
  • Basic numeracy (numbers and their relations, orders of magnitude, etc. (Class X level), Data interpretation (charts, graphs, tables, data sufficiency, etc. – Class X level)
  • English language comprehension skills (Class X level)
