In this
PhD Prosthodontic it is a doctoral level of course. The doctoral program provides study to student’s skill in the restoration of the natural teeth and or the replacement of the missing teeth and contiguous oral and the maxillofacial tissues with the artificial substitutes. The Doctor of the Philosophy in the Prosthodontic Studies may be completed in three years or four years attending full-time. A student may take this course on a part time or full time basis. The course involves the systematic basis and the clinical skills in fixed, removable and the implant prosthodontics, plus exposure to the maxillofacial prosthetics. During the course its covers the various things are done such as the complete and removable partial dentures, laminates, ceramic crown and the bridges and the implant retained prostheses are fabricated. Various colleges and universities offered this course because of its increasing demand and importance in the India. This course equips students with the critical and the analytical skills to prepare them for a range of the professions to understand Prosthodontic studies.

Admission to the PhD programme shall be based on the candidate marks obtained in the entrance test conducted by the respective department of school of the particular or each university or college. Those candidates who have complete their GATE or NET/SET/ M.Phil Examination in the pertinent subjects of the apex bodies as CSIR/UGC/ICAR/ICMR/DBT will be disown from the Entrance Test. While giving the exemptions, the Departmental Committee of the university may be consider research work or earlier PhD or experience done by the candidate. If a candidate already holds a Doctor of degree in the relevant subjects from a UGC Approved Universities or Colleges, he or she may be exempted from entrance exam and pre PhD coursework. After clearing the both steps the candidate will be eligible to pay the course fee or registration fee. Only the predetermined number of candidate may be admitted to PhD programme of Prosthodontic.
